Hello fellow drama clubbers, hope all of you are having a crazy good summer. I have some BIG news for all of you, THE NEW TEACHER IS…........haha fooled you all, actually I haven’t heard anything about the new teacher but I do have some good news. This FRIDAY, June 25 we are going to have a drama club picnic at Quivera (sp?) park. It starts at 12 and ends when we’ve all had so much fun we can’t walk anymore. So everyone be there, its’ at 119th and Quivera, bring food, sports equipment, and the drama club let’s be crazy attitude. Everything brought to the picnic must be LEGAL, if it is not I..will…find you. And then I will make you dispose of it and will probably jump a giant bucket of gross water over your head. So keep it legal kiddos. So now you’ve read it, take it in, analyze it, now go to walmart and buy some crazy good food and I hope to see you Friday!

This is your new webmaster Sam Pomarico. I will be updating this website over the summer with all the news on upcoming drama parties and get togethers. During the school year I’ll update the website after each drama meeting to let people who missed out know what we talked about. So make sure and check out the website every once in a while for upcoming events/auditions/people eating contests/100 mile runs and hunger strikes…well maybe not all of that, but seriously all the new info on events, shows, and meetings will be found here.

Hey Everyone, it’s Ethan, just giving you an update on Drama Club activities:

We are having a drama club meeting tomorrow, Wed. May 13, right after school in the little theatre. Everybody should come, because we will be talking about summer activities that you can get involved in!

Also, I put up a form under the “files” section of the website called “Drama Club Retreat Info.” You should read it! It has all the info for the retreat this summer at Great Wolf Lodge!

Meeting Update

FOR REAL:
—Bang, Bang, You’re Dead on Friday during seventh hour, get a permish slip from Hitch and ask your seventh hour teacher. This is a theatrical event of epic proportunes, I recommend coming.

—The lock-in was a large success. I mean, really, massive. The orchestra may or may not be haunted.

—Next meeting is December the 2nd tuesday in Decemember. It’s on the caledar if you’re Molly Wetzel and like dates. The calendar kind, I mean. Hey, who remembers that scene in MISS CONGENIALTIY when that innocent character answer the perfect date question by talking about her perfect calendar date? Hahaha. Oh, Sandra Bullock is so freaking awesome.

There are numerous small roles, solo vocals, quartets, featured dance ensembles, etc. that will be cast from the singing chorus once rehearsals have begun. Thank-you to everyone who auditioned. We look forward to an outstanding show.

State Conference Requirements

To go to State Conference which is a lot of fun.

You have to be:
-Active in Drama Club
-Have 1.5 Thespian points
-Be involved in at least 1 play
-Come to 3 meetings
-Have all forms turned in

State Conference is $175 dollars. Which is for 3 days. You get to see 3 shows and have a nice cozy bed and shower.

State Conference is January 8th, 9th, and 10th.

Updates

The Lock-in is rescheduled again to November 21st after the preformance of 100 Years of Broadway.

TOTSKCE – On October 29th we will be passing out flyers to neighborhoods. – On October 30th we will be collecting cans from the neighborhoods and come back to have pizza with Olathe North after we collect cans.

On October 29th we will be having a Work day.

Our next meeting is on October 21st so be there or be square!

On November 21st there is The 12th Night. Which more information will be given out at the meeting.

—State conference was discussed, and forms handed out. Go to room 323 (Hitchler’s room) for additional forms and information. In order to attended, you MUST have a minimum of 1.5 thespian points (15 hrs of work in the department).

—You can still earn points by selling flowers or concessions before shows, and by auditioning for the next play “The ‘A’ Train”

—Plans were made for the homecoming float, and rehearsal will take place during ART on Thursday. Wear red or orange, and a West Side flava!

—The lock-in was rescheduled for Friday Oct, 17th. Prepare to party.

—TOTSKE will take place on October 27th and 28th. Sign up in room 323 (Mrs. Hitchler’s room). Pizza and soda (pop!) are involved.

A Tomb With A View is set in as sinister an old library as one is likely to come across presided over by a portrait of a grim faced, mad eyed old man. There, a dusty, lawyer reads a will (involving some millions of pounds) to an equally sinister family one member of which has were wolf tendencies, another wanders around in a toga of Julius Caesar and a third member is a gentle old lady who plants more than seeds in her flower beds. By the third act, there are more corpses than live members left in the cast and what about the sympathetic nurse and the author of romantic novels are they all, or more than, they seem to be? All is revealed as the plot twists and turns to its surprising conclusion.
